ALIAC’s SCIENTIA 2024 Soars Beyond Horizons, Celebrates 40 Years of Aviation Excellence
Air Link International Aviation College (ALIAC) hosted the 6th annual Scientia Knowledge Hub 2024 at the Marriott Hotel, which coincided with ALIAC’s 40th anniversary, as the school explored the critical theme of “Beyond Horizons: Integrating Aviation Innovation and Sustainability for Tomorrow’s Skies.”
Since its establishment in 1984, ALIAC has consistently evolved into a frontrunner in aviation education. Guided by its core values of “Fidem, Scientia, Humanitatis et Integram Disciplinam,” which emphasize faith, integrity, discipline, excellence, and social responsibility, ALIAC has nurtured generations of highly qualified and competent aviation professionals, contributing significantly to the Philippine aviation industry’s sustained growth.
SCIENTIA 2024 brought together over 1,000 students, industry leaders, and aviation enthusiasts to engage in thought-provoking discussions about the future of aviation. Renowned speakers like Mr. Ves Yraola from Cebu Pacific, Dr. Eva Maleviti from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Beatrice Nyagah from Kenya Airways shared their insights on topics ranging from sustainable aviation practices and net-zero pathways to navigating the future through innovation. Dalia Altaher from Fusion Group in Qatar offered a glimpse into the world of drone innovation, while Mentor Myron Sta. Ana discussed the power of innovation within the aviation landscape.
Motivational speakers Jonathan Yabut and Lloyd Luna captivated the audience with their messages of encouragement and perseverance. These talks aimed to ignite the passion and vision of aspiring aviation professionals, fueling their dreams of taking flight and shaping the future of the industry.
A highlight of the event was the conferment of the prestigious Phoenix Award. This award embodies ALIAC’s core values and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of the transportation and aviation industry. This year, the Phoenix Award was presented to Hon. Secretary Jaime J. Bautista of the Department of Transportation (represented by Assistant Secretary Enrique Antonio J. Furthermore, the event featured an exciting Upcycling Competition, where students showcased their creativity and sustainability skills by transforming airplane scrap materials into useful products. The BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology’s entry, “The Low-Cost Conclave,” impressed the judges and took home the grand prize, securing the coveted Scientia Award perpetual trophy for their department until the next champion is crowned.
SCIENTIA 2024 served as a significant milestone for ALIAC, marking its 40th anniversary and showcasing its commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and leadership within the aviation industry. The event provided a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and inspiration, leaving participants empowered to contribute to a brighter future for the skies.
