ALIAC Launches Lecture Series for AY 2024-2025 with International Professors

ALIAC has officially kicked off its lecture series for the academic year 2024-2025, featuring a roster of distinguished international professors. This initiative aims to provide students and faculty with cutting-edge knowledge and insights from experts in the fields of aviation, aerospace, and business performance.

The series commenced with a lecture by Beatrice Nyagah, Manager of Business Performance – Technical at Kenya Airways PLC. With over 15 years of experience in strategic financial planning, analysis, and data storytelling, Nyagah delivered a thought-provoking session on “Price Discrimination in the Aviation Industry: An Analysis of Dynamic Pricing Strategies” and “Financial Planning and Analysis for Unmanned Aerial Systems.” Upcoming talks by Nyagah will cover critical topics such as “Business Performance Metrics for Aerospace Engineering,” “Sustainable Tourism: Financial Strategies for a Greener Future,” “Integrating Traditional and Digital Marketing in the Airline Industry,” and “Industry Trends and Innovations in Aerospace Finance,” all scheduled to continue until the end of the first term.

Next in the series is Dr. Eva Maleviti, MRAES, Program Coordinator and Professor in MS Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Campus. With a PhD in Sustainable Development, Energy, and Environment and extensive experience in sustainability in aviation, Dr. Maleviti’s lectures have focused on “Fundamentals of Sustainability” and “Environmental Sustainability in Aviation.” Future discussions will delve into “Economic Aspects of Aviation Sustainability,” “Sustainable Aviation Designs,” “Sustainable Aviation Fuels,” “Sustainable Processes,” “Sustainable Air Traffic Management,” “Sustainable Aviation Faculties,” and “Future Aspects of Aviation Sustainability.”

Another notable guest speaker is Engr. Dalia Altaher, Program Manager for Aviation at Fusion Group in Doha, Qatar. Recognized for expertise in UAS/UAV technology and aviation program planning, Altaher has presented lectures on “The Impact of UAS Technology on the Aviation Industry and Its Potential Future Developments” and “Challenges and Opportunities in Implementing UAS Safety Regulations in Different Regions.” Her future sessions will explore “The Role of Digitalization in Aerospace and Its Influence on Aircraft Maintenance and Operations,” “Supply Chain Management in the Aerospace Industry and Its Importance for Ensuring Efficient Operations,” “The Future of Aerospace Engineering, Including Emerging Technologies and Innovations,” and “Trends in Aircraft Materials Engineering and How Advancements in Materials Impact Aircraft Performance and Safety.”

Rounding out the series is Dr. Abdullah “Abet” Mamacotao, an expert in general administration, economic studies, and financial management with extensive consultancy experience. With a PhD in Management and Political Economy, Dr. Mamacotao has delivered lectures on “Technopreneurship in Aviation,” “Research Methodologies,” and “Economic Feasibility of Next-Generation Avionics Systems.” His upcoming lectures will cover “Research and Development in Unmanned Aerial Systems,” “Integrating Traditional and Digital Marketing in the Airline Industry,” and “Regulatory Framework Governing Unmanned Aerial Systems: Compliance Challenges, Risk Assessment, and Mitigation Strategies.”
