Montreal, March 15, 2020 – The Institute for Women Of Aviation Worldwide (iWOAW) is proud to award ALIAC its Verified Women Friendly label in recognition for ALIAC‘s efforts to improve gender balance in the male-dominated sectors of the air and space industry.
To receive the award, organizations must document tangible and effective in-house steps to attract and inspire women to contribute their talents to the air and space industry. ALIAC certainly met the criteria.
Each year, individuals and organizations reach out to thousands of women and girls and introduce them to aviation’s multifaceted opportunities during Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week, a global aviation awareness week for girls of all ages observed to mark the anniversary of the world’s first female pilot licence (March 8, 1910).
iWOAW’s Verified Women Friendly label was established in 2013 to help steer women entering the industry towards success. It identifies organizations that genuinely seek to engage and retain women as customers and employees.
Manufacturers, service suppliers, schools, and associations are among the hundreds of organizations across the globe that have already qualified for iWOAW’s Verified Women Friendly label.
“Women face many barriers when they decide to enter the male-dominated sectors of the air and space industry,” says Mireille Goyer, iWOAW’s Founder and President. “Choosing the right partners for their journey is critical to their success. Our Verified Women Friendly label helps them do just that.”
